Duo Of Crumble Bars, Rhubarb and Raspberry

Pardon the delay in the newsletter as I had to catch my breath.

What an exciting weekend we just had. Holidays always push our little bakeshop to the limit, and maybe a bit beyond, but when the team is grooving together and the pastries are baking off luscious and lofty, the week of extra long prep lists and near constant shuffling of sheet trays to make all the product fit makes all of the hard work worth it. Thanks to all of you.

My Mother's Day was as simple and relaxing as I hoped for. My workday at the bakery began at 3am, but I was able to come home and take a little nap before my kids got home. We sat in the backyard - the four of us squished into two hammocks, swinging back and forth eating a box of Bakeshop pastries. I chose one of everything and we devoured them all. It was truly decadent as we rarely indulge in the bakery's pastries ourselves as I usually sell out of our most coveted items. We enjoyed the warm sunshine until late evening, ate a delicious dinner, watched a movie and eventually we tumbled into bed, preparing ourselves for another week. My heart was full.

We are going to revisit our popular Crumble Bars as a Duo, with one Rhubarb and one Raspberry, made with our fresh-milled Kamut flour, and topped with Ginger Streusel.
