Hamantashen for Ukraine

This week we are honored to participate in Hamantashen for Ukraine. For this special fundraiser, bakers from around the world are coming together and baking Hamantashen to raise money for the Polish Humanitarian Action, an organization that is assisting Ukrainian refugees at the Polish border.

In celebration of Purim next week, we are making a special Duo of Hamantashen, one with a poppy seed and prune filling, the other with a fruit jam made from red fruits, plums and peaches. The dough will be a Pâte Sucrée (a crisp yet tender, slightly sweet pastry crust enriched with egg yolk, butter, and sugar) made with barley and wheat flours — two of the main crops grown and exported from Ukraine.

20% of every order will be donated, plus Bakeshop will match each donation.

We are making 80 sets of this Special Item available to our newsletter subscribers for online preorder, to make certain you have the first opportunity to join us in supporting this important cause.

In addition, in anticipation of Pi Day next week, we are making a special pie this weekend — Raspberry Rhubarb with Ginger Oat Streusel. You can preorder a whole one online here.

Look forward to seeing you at Bakeshop!

With love,

Kim & The Bakeshop Team
