Happy Thanksgiving
Hello Everyone!!
I’m jumping on here quickly to let you know that we are so busy here at the bakery preparing all of your Thanksgiving pie orders. We have been working the dough sheeter non-stop all weekend to roll out all of the pie dough, browning potful after potful of butter, and bubbling cranberries as they transform into our compote. Even my kids are headed here to jump in on the action -- this is really a labor of love.
The bakers and I thank each of you very, very much for all of your support. As I’ve said, we are only able to go on because of your support, and this year is our largest Thanksgiving yet with hundreds of pies ordered!
Yet, we are still going to do a Secret Item on the menu this weeknd for our loyal customers, and we are throwing it back to a childhood favorite. Growing up, on many Sundays we went to the local donut shop, Brad’s Doughnuts, and I was allowed to choose exactly two doughnuts. Of course, I chose the largest doughnut I could first -- the cinnamon roll! My second choice varied, but often I would choose the Maple Old Fashioned. I loved the tender cake center and especially the bite at the top, where the glaze met the doughnut and created a tender pocket. And with that memory, our Maple Bar was born. It’s been given Bakeshop treatment, and is made with our croissant dough, a thin brush of maple glaze and a sprinkle of salt. It’s a favorite here; if ever there is one left at the end of the day, we fight over who gets it and inevitably end up sharing! Available this week for our newsletter subscribers only, so be sure to join our email list for access to all of our weekly specials.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
