Candied Coconut Muffins, Rhubarb Hand Pies, Matzah and more
Hello!
Spring has arrived, and so have more seasonal items here at Bakeshop! A couple of weeks ago rhubarb became available again, which is always one of the first hints of spring produce after a long winter. We’ve been offering our Raspberry Rhubarb Pie with Ginger Oat Streusel ever since, and this week we are thrilled to bring back our Rhubarb Hand Pie. We love the tart rhubarb tossed in house-made rhubarb jam paired with our flaky old-fashioned pie dough, as well as the hint of pink syrupy goodness that drips through the crust of the hand pies while they bake.
Also this week, Candied Coconut Muffins have returned for the first time in over a year! These almost cupcake-like muffins are bursting with real coconut flavor from four coconut-based ingredients: coconut flour, coconut milk, shredded coconut, and a sticky coconut topping. The addition of coconut flour and light rye flour gives them a more complex flavor as well as a fluffy, moist, and tender texture.
You’ll also find another coconut-based item on this weekend’s menu that hasn’t been available since last September: Coconut Pecan Cookies! These wheat-free* cookies are made with 100% oat flour and are chock-full of toasted salted pecans, whole oats, and shredded coconut. They’re thin, crisp, and deliciously satisfying. Perhaps you’ve even seen them as a topping offering at Eb & Bean!
Finally, our online preorders for our 1503 Matzah continue this week for pickup on Saturday, April 9th or Sunday, April 10th. You can also have Matzah delivered on Saturday (provided you make a $40 minimum order and live within our 5 mile delivery radius from the bakery).**
Simply select a designated MATZAH PICKUP or DELIVERY date at checkout.
Please remember to place your Matzah orders separately from this weekend’s pastry orders. Boxes have been selling quickly, and we only have a limited amount remaining. Reserve your half-pound box today!
Best,
Kim
*Wheat-free items are not necessarily gluten-free because of the possibility of cross-contamination at the bakery.
** Please remember to add the $10 delivery fee.
