Thanksgiving Preorders + Secret Item!

Hello!

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween! Can you believe it’s already November? Here at Bakeshop that means one thing: Thanksgiving preorders are officially open! This year we are offering:

•Old Fashioned Pecan Pie

•Bakeshop Pumpkin Pie

•Double Crust Apple Pie

•Brown Butter Apple Pie with Buckwheat Streusel

•Chocolate Cream Pie

•Burnt Basque Cheesecake

•Italian Prune Plum and Cranberry Rustic Tart

•Cranberry Quince Compote (quart or pint)

They will be available for pickup on either Tuesday, November 23rd from 11am-1pm OR Wednesday, November 24th between 10am and 1pm.

There are no deliveries of holiday pies.

Our pastry counter will also be full and open for walk-up orders, only on Wednesday, November 24th, between 10am and 1pm. We will be closed on Thanksgiving day.

In order to make sure your holiday orders are received and logged properly, please place your Thanksgiving orders separately from your regular weekend pastry orders!

To make this as simple as possible for all, our Thanksgiving menu is listed on a separate page, and all items say THANKSGIVING in their name. These holiday items are only offered on Thanksgiving pickup dates! In addition, our Weekend Menu pastries are not available on Thanksgiving pickup dates! Thank you in advance for your help in keeping your orders organized, and not combining your holiday and weekend orders.

Thanksgiving preorders close on Thursday, November 18th at 5pm — or when we sell out, so order early!!

We look forward to being a part of your Thanksgiving table!

Finally, we also have a Secret Item available for our newsletter subscribers to add to your weekend orders this week!

This weekend we are making a Duo of Apple Tarts made with two different apple varieties. Rectangles of freshly milled Rouge de Bordeaux croissant dough are spread with frangipane and topped with sliced apples, a brush of brown butter and a thin glaze of salty vanilla bean caramel. We’re highlighting two varieties of local apples grown at Kiyokawa orchards. The first is the elusive, pink-fleshed, Mountain Rose, a firm, sweet apple that is only available two months out of the year. The second is an old world Ashmeed Kernal, a rough yellow skinned fruit with a tart, crisp flesh. The two varieties of apples add balance of flavor and texture along with beauty. Perfect autumn flavors, and this item will surely sell out.

Preorders for this weekend’s menu close this Thursday at 5pm.

Best,
